Tuesday Evening
Good evening, all! Today and yesterday were great days for ChildReach Ministries. Over $28,000 has been raised for Hannahs Home so far, and we are still counting! God has supplied in His usual BIG way. Although we have enough to pay for the land, please don´t let it stop there! Every penny raised will come directly here to help with the construction. That´s 100% of your donation (which is tax-deductible, by the way) will go directly to the mission field to help young mothers and their babies. What an awesome privilidge it is to serve our God!!! Some of our team was able to tour the house on the property (no gringos yet, the final papers have not been signed and they don´t want to inflate the price because of the ´wealthy´ American) and we will have to tear down the back half of the house because it lacks a proper foundation. We also need to secure the house and it´s contents and begin building the security gate. All of this is greek to alot of us, but suffice it to say that we have our work cut out for us. Elizabeth (our potential Director) was with us spewing forth ideas and excitement at the project in which she will definitely play a part. She is currently attending English school to better communicate with ChildReach and families that will surely come into her life. Please remember her in your prayers - school 3-5pm, work 6pm-9am, home by 10am to leave for school again at 2pm. A wicked schedule for anyone!
Today I saw a young mother feeding her baby along a busy street and couldn´t help thinking that in a few short months teens like her will be able to care for their babies in the secluded safety of Hannah´s Home. And, then as we rolled up to an intersection in Lima, the children (very small) were begging for just one sol (about 30 cents) and I couldn´t help but think about those families all over the world who would love the chance to hug these kids as their own. My heart breaks at these thoughts, but I, and the Lord, can rest assured that help is coming!!!
Words cannot accurately describe what the Lord is doing here, and, the cool thing is, we´re all a part!!!
Buenos noches y Dios te Bendiga (good night and God Bless You!),
